Tectonic
Let's Hope Luck Is On My Side...
Winter had finally come to take hold of the land. The trees which had once been decorated in vibrant yellows, reds, golds, and greens were now bare, resembling skeletons. The once rich brown and green earth was now no longer visible, covered in a thick powder of white which halted the growth of nearly everything. Most all bodies of water had frozen over solid, allowing a somewhat easier but hazardous passage through areas once difficult to traverse due to the running water.
This particular day was different than the previous ones before it. Tonic had finally crossed into the lands where she had heard that a certain fatal dubbed Bella resided in. She didn't know much about this dame, only that she was alpha of a pack and that right away caught the fire-breathing vixen's attention. So gathering the information she needed, she headed out. It had taken her about a day to reach Bella's lands, since having wings did have its advantages. She would have flown in the rest of way except that when night came, the temperature dropped and icicles tended to form on the tips of her wings, mostly on the outer feathers, which if not removed before long, began to get painful and weighed her down.
Limbs moved tirelessly through the powder, carrying Tonic along while she stretched out her massive wings as to prevent them from getting to sore later on. Once the ache in her shoulders had subsided for the time being, the onyx-crimson stained fatal tucked her also onyx wings back along her spine, where they were supposed to go. Auditory system was pricked forward, attentive as her turquoise eyes scanned the area around her. From what she had gathered from the atmosphere, there hadn't really been too many wolves that had passed through the area. There were some scents, but they were pretty old and stale. Hardly any fresh scents were present.
Sunset had come, slowly taking the sun's warm-providing rays with it. Light was fading and the temperature had begun to drop. Her once invisible breath had now become thick clouds that curled from her lips and nostrils. She was nearing the border of Bella's territory, she could sense it. The uncertainty of whether she had or hadn't already crossed onto the other dame's territory caused her to stop in her tracks. She wasn't looking to start a quarrel with anyone. Her one simple desire was to join her pack, to become part of something once again. Since having left the land of her birth, she's always had a feeling of being incomplete. It had taken her a while to figure it out, but in the end she'd realized that it was her need to be a part of something that needed to be fulfilled. And so that was why she was here, rooted to the spot which could or couldn't be the border of the pack she wished to join.
Should she call or out, or simply wait to see if anyone would come wandering by? The fresh scents were stronger here, but if one of those belonged to the alpha Bella, she couldn't no. Chest expanded with each lungful of air, puffs of smoke curling away from her maw, turquoise gems flickering across the ivory landscape, searching for a sign of another wolven.

Tectonic. Bella’s eyes never missed a thing; saw every muscles, noticed every scar; nothing would get past the hard-looking stare. This examination had been the easiest to pass, so long as you had not been scrawny and had a little bit of useful muscle; you would effortlessly clear it.
Their eyes met after the observation of Tectonic, and the wolf seeking for her acceptance then spoke. With a nod and a grin, Bella replied, I see then... Looking her all over, she analyzed just a little further before making her final decision. You can not start out with a rank like some do, however this is only because you have more than one opportunity. During your time here, just call for me when you wish to be tested for a rank, and I shall admit it. Bella was an impatient wolf, and the acceptance or rejection time was running a little long for her taste. So this had been why she attempted to say everything the wolf needed to know in one clear shot.
Eyes shooting over, to glance at the now entirely risen moon over the mountain. It was almost full tonight, although not just yet. Bella had always loved how cool and calm, as well as how dark the nighttime was. She felt at peace, really at home in this kind of weather. She had a much larger tolerance for cold than most wolves did, which was why she chose to sleep on a cold cave floor in wintertime. Although, even a leader as unemotionally connected as Bella had achieved, in the winter she did miss having a mate by her side to warm her.
Returning the empty look, she blankly started at the female. She was accepted by Bella’s terms, and all the leader wanted to do now was leave. It was time that she packed it up and head out, she had other things to do. Perhaps there was a different wolf, in fact, on her lands that she had to take care of; one that was not so pure with their ideals and wished to end the Cerrac’s. This was highly unlikely, though it did not hurt to want to stalk about her lands.

Acceptance or Denial? For several moments there was nothing. Not a single thing moved. Not even the breeze stirred. Really the only thing she could hear was her quiet breathing, but even that was pretty quiet. Was no one around? Had she come to the wrong place? Taking a glance around, it was difficult to try and distinguish a particular landmark that could tell her that she was indeed the lands of the fatal Bella. The only thing clearly visible in the seemingly endless ocean of white was the mountain range that loomed behind her, but that wasn't something concrete to go off of.
Bringing her gaze back from the mountain range, the winged-dame shuddered. She could feel the temperature dropping with each passing moment. She shifted the wings on her spine, trying to warm them up because she could feel the cold starting to seep in. Taking a deep intake of oxygen, she inflated her abdomen, as she did whenever she wanted to let loose the fire from her belly. Only this time, instead of letting the flames dance inbetween her canines, she took the heat and spread it throughout her body, making sure to reach her wings especially. When she was nice and toasty, she slowly expelled her breath, watching as a good sized cloud of smoke floated away from her jowls, back into the atmosphere.
When the smoke had disappeared, Tonic dropped her gaze back down, but not before she caught movement in the corner of her eye. Turning towards it, her turquoise jewels came across the figure of another onyx female with striking violet eyes. Was this the Bella that ruled these lands? Crown was held slightly higher as the second lupine approached, her voice commanding and thick with the power only an alpha possesed. Halt. That single word held so much power. The fae's next words were laced with an unwelcoming harshness, so it was apparent that Tonic had crossed into the territory; as she had suspected. Her gaze wandered over the second female whom she'd come to conclude was Bella, noticing how her body was postured, as if ready for a fight. Tectonic was not here to fight, but if to be allowed within Bella's ranks she had to fight, then she would.
I am Tectonic and I do not wish to bring harm upon your lands. I have simply come looking to be allowed within your ranks. Her voice was a low rumble, non-threatning but firm at the same time. Her own frame became somewhat tense, though not enough to be exceptionally visible, her wings coming a little ways from her spine, ready to hoist her into the air if necessary. Auds pricked forward attentive, waiting for Bella's next move.

Standing normally, she placed her head high into the air, providing her leading stance. Bella’s eyes lightly observed the other wolf, and with an approving nod opened her mouth to speak. Hopefully this would make the other wolf put her wings back down to rest, as she was not going to fight her unless need be. Though she did not like to admit it, she needed members, as she had heard her pack was struggling to gain them as the Jager wolves bursted with popularity.
I see Tectonic. She spoke, though her voice was deep it was still commanding and respective. First I will need to know what you can offer my pack. I cannot just let you in without knowing what you can provide. If you have skills, list them now. For some reason, Bella had felt off today; as if she was just standing there and simplifying everything she had been saying for the past few months to loners. Perhaps it was how calm she was right now that had caused her to make things easy.
Bella turned her head the slightest bit and found that her power was once again flowing out of her pores, giving her a dark glow. That’s odd... she thought, knowing that normally she could control her power. For this particular moment, however, it had appeared as if she was just losing control of it. Although slightly bewildered about the fact that her body was doing this, she did not question it further. Shaking her head roughly, she pushed away the thoughts.
Lately she had been focusing a lot more on whatever came up in her mind, then on a loner’s investigation. Often she was too caught up in other things, too busy for what she normally liked; though it was all expected. She was a leader now, and there was hardly a way of getting around her chores. It was her duty, and she had already accepted the task.

Tectonic
Patience is all that's needed The alphaess had come at her, as if wishing to fight or maybe because she feared an intruder wreaking havoc on her land. But with the way Tonic presented herself, Bella had seemed to accept that she was simply here to join her pack, not destroy it.
Her wings, which were slightly opened to be ready at a moment's notice need she remove herself from a threatening situation, were now lying placidly back on her spine, her body readjusting to its normal, relaxed position. Bella had come out of her stance as well, so the pyro fatal felt no need to hold her defensive posture any longer. Crimson tipped ears were erect and standing to attention, listening with great interest to the alpha's words. I see Tectonic. First I will need to know what you can offer my pack. I cannot just let you in without knowing what you can provide. If you have skills, list them now.
Tectonic nodded curtly before answering what was required of her. I am an excellent hunter and a superb fighter. I am loyal to those who gain my trust and will protect my pack until my last, dying breath. I certainly hope I can be of some use to your pack. She puffed her chest out slightly, raising her head by the slightest, but not enough to surpass that of the second female's, for she did not wish to cause disrespect. Turquoise gems glanced at the alpha's violet ones, demonstrating that she meant every word that was uttered from her jowls.
Tonic thanked her lucky stars that she had caught Bella in what seemed to be a rather pleasant mood. Now, she just had to wait and see what her verdict was.

Tectonic
It's All Been Said and Done First meetings are always important because its the opportunity where one can either make a good impression or a bad one. After Tonic had given what had been asked of her, she noticed how the violet gemstones roamed across her figure, taking in even the slightest detail; the minutest defect. She found no wrong within that gesture. It was natural for all creatures to size up others because this allows one to make the decision of whether the other will be friend or foe. The fact that Bella was the head of a pack gave her even more reason to do examine the winged fatal, for she had to know just who exactly she was letting in amongst her mist.
The nod and the simultaneous grin that followed her answer seemed to signify acceptance and approval and there was an internal sigh of relief from Tonic. It wasn't that she was to worried about not being accepted, it was just that it had been so many years since she had last been within the ranks of other wolves and if she hadn't been accepted, then who knows where she would have gone to.
Though Bella spoke of her acceptance onto her lands, the crimson stained vixen could detect the slight hint of annoyance and that was something unexpected. I thank you for the opportunity to become part of a pack once again. Her answer was brief and to the point, since it was apparent her alpha had somewhere else she wanted to be instead of here. That was completely fine with her. Tonic didn't want to keep Bella from her duties and such that she needed to take care of.
And so, after the last vocal had left her jowls, there seemed to be nothing more that was to be said between the two large females, for they simply stared at each other. Tectonic didn't want to keep Bella here any longer that she needed to, -since staying on her alpha's good side was desireable-, so she provided the exit she was sure the other was looking for. With your permission Bella, I shall take my leave to get settled. Crown was dipped in a departing sign of respect before padders carried the dame away into her new home.
