\\[Dementis]// The pain hits us all, silently waiting to tear us up and break everything down into rubble. Chill. Oh, what winter did to them all. The small, ivory flakes cascaded down from the heavens in a soft parade of frozen beauty. Many prey animals were safely tucked away in their little homes, and all tracks soon disappeared due to the ongoing breeze and steadily falling snow. In the midst of this sea of ivory, a single shape was trudging forward at an even pace, not bothering to really recognize his surrounding, but instead keeping his mind on his goal. A pause, and he lifted his ashen hued Crown and scented the air. So he was close. The brutes' legs powered forward, sending his somewhat well built frame through the deep snow as quickly as he could without expending too much energy. More flakes landed on his mostly alabaster coat, making the wolf blend into the background. Ice shaded orbs scanned the Terra for any sign of his destination. Perhaps a member would be in the area. A member of the pack he was wishing to join. A member of Cerrac. They had to be close. Though the frigid air tried to pull away scents, he could tell that at least one of these wolves was close. How wonderfully fun this could be. But, he was unsure how this would go. Under good circumstances, he was a tad difficult to get along with. Not the most friendly, and even less of a caring sort. Making friends is hard when you have nothing in common. But not impossible, he had to remind himself. The ones he looked for, those belonging to cerrac, were not just hopefully to be come his allies. If he did join, they would soon find out. His secret, the one he had no control over. They were bound to learn what happened. Yet, he found no wanting to end it. To make this monster inside leave. Not yet. No good reason presented itself to him. He needed to be controlled, as that was not something he could do himself. So here he was, coming to a stop under a large tree covered in snow. Joy. His decisions had not made sense to him yet, but a plan was sure to take form if only he had time. For now, why not save himself if only for a short time, by joining someone. His light orbs looked to shift, moving without moving, and the color changed a bit, becoming softer and a shade darker. It was time to meet someone new. And it seemed to him this would be rather interesting. And yet with this knowledge, we press on Knowing this day could be our last, and failure is awaiting If only he had this strength. [/right]

Moonlight washed over the land, everything deep within slumber. It had been late enough that the diurnal animals had set themselves into bed long ago, and almost early enough that the nocturnal ones were beginning to follow. This threw the entire landscape into a serene setting; peaceful, calm, tranquil; it was the perfect place to be at the moment in time. Too bad the blue and yellow wolf was tucked safely away inside of her den, keeping the world outside thrown entirely from her mind. In here it was warm, satisfying, and a world all her own. Snippets of dreams floated here and there, but for the most part the night was silent, hardly a soft flutter of her own breath escaping her nostrils.
Then the sunlight peaked over those tall mountains; bathing the land in a new light. This woke the sleeping female, quietly nudging the small being awake; silver eyes opening and catching a glimpse of the illuminating sunlight. There was no inner fight to wake up today, as it had now become habit to rise when the moonlight hid. With a shortened yawn, the body pressed up away from the floor and legs forced their way outside. Still a little tired from the night, Moon decided to make herself go on a morning walk to kick away the heaviness of her eyes.
Stepping from the cave, she looked down to the snowy covered ground. What was once before a climb to her den, had now been shrunken to just a small leap; the inches of snow piling up in the Cerrac's home. It was rumored that they could gain up to 800in in a season, but for some reason, Moonbeam had always doubted that statistic. Living here now, though, gave proof that the land was full of surprises. A soft flake fell on the back of her head at that moment, melting almost instantly. Lifting her small head, she looked to the sky, as the powder began to fall lightly over their land once more. Oh, how she had grown to love the snow.
Leaping from the stone cold rock, she landed gracefully in the soft ivory; only a small crunch from beneath her gave proof that the snow was so deep, nearly sinking down to her knees. With so little as a huff, she broke through the snow with a strong pull of her front right leg--followed by her left front, left back, then right back. Soon her legs were on the topmost layer, and a strut had began, her feet carrying her in the direction of the open snow patch.
Then a scent; one which did not belong here. Moonbeam knew it had not been her place to attack or even push off of the lands, but seeing as how nobody else was around, she was going to take matters into her own paws. Bolting from where she was standing, she darted in the direction that the smell had been coming from. Hopefully this brute was not in for a fight, because even though she could live with just battling for a few hours, she was far from a fighter, and she knew eventually she would be 'dismissed', so to speak. Who knew, perhaps luck would be with her, and she would not have to run from an angry killer beast today.
She came to the male in a matter of minutes, her legs slowing and her feet treading lightly. Raising her head, she summoned all the confidence within her to make it look like she mattered a ton in this pack. Though he was a lot larger, admittedly, and so even with her poofing up, it did not help too much.
"You do realize that this is pack lands? That not only have you trespassed, but you have come in much deeper than any intelligent wolf would have dared?" Woah, Moonbeam did not know she could do mean, but the fear that rose in her body about being destroyed caused her to be this way. He was pretty deep in, and the idea that he was here to either spy/weaken the wolves of Cerrac made her nervous. But these were her homelands now, and regardless of her rank, she would protect them with whatever she had. [/scrolly]

\\[Dementis]// The pain hits us all, silently waiting to tear us up and break everything down into rubble. In this surreal environment, time almost seemed to still. The planet felt like maybe it's turning had slowed to a fraction of normality. But it was all really the same. These flakes of frozen water had a way of both clearing the mind, and creating Chaos in it. Just another annoying detail he managed to notice, but didn't actually care about. His warm breath came out in large puffs, creating little clouds in the air, piquing his interest only for a moment. The rays of light had been falling over his mainly ivory coat for a while now. How stupid he found this; it was so dreadfully chilly out that the normally warming sunlight had close to no effect on him. It might be cold with a purpose, but the only good he saw from the sun now was it granted him the ability to see much easier now. But that distraction evaporated from his mind when he picked up a very slight trace of a scent. So, he would have froze his tail off for a reason now. Always good. The wind was more to the on-comers favor, so the brute was hardly surprised she had known of his presence. It might have aggravated him some, but Dementis reminded himself that he had no wish to hide. If that bad been the case she would never know he was here save by some stroke of unfortunate luck. The Fae's' eyes held a tint that suggested too easily the fear she appeared to have now. Well deserved too. His eyes were the visual definition of monotone as he blandly gazed at her. He picked her apart, analyzing this small female with an odd interest. Her color was a soft blue, pleasing to the eye in this blanket of white that held their planet captive now. He could almost see the thoughts whirring through her head. The scent of fear, coupled with a tad bit of insecurity was a scent that wafted through the air and hit him like a shock wave. But little would move him now. It was, though, very entertaining to watch others who so openly expressed their feelings. He could see even in this recent beginning, that he was her opposite in many ways. More than just their builds, but even posture at this time held a taste of personality. His was carefully monitored; kept in a neutral sort of way till he made a decision. Her words came out harsh as she began them, battering him with their unwelcoming bitterness. Well then. Her fear seemed to resonate just a bit in her vocals, making the words less impressive to him and more like a challenge. Oh fun. But this wasn't time for that. Now was time to shut off the part of him that screamed to act rude or sarcastic in a deliberated way. He had to make things go right to keep from causing any further unsettling. Dementis was tempted to either scare her or piss her off, a common habit when he first met others. But resilience paid off. His maw remained closed until his words became well defined in his mind and the risk was lessened. Finally he spoke; in a clear, not quite deep voice, bit one that held it's note in the air and filled the ears, "But of course. I've heard plenty of these lands. And I can certainly assure you I know exactly where I am at. Stupidity is a quality I none too regrettably lack at the moment. I believe I have come for much the same reason as you and others have. Bit that's an educated guess. I came to join." The words came out in a almost lofty tone. But they held a droll note, like the wolf had planned them for a while, instead of a few moments. It was easy to do when one had the wandering time to contemplate so much. He thought quick of his feet and could make hard decisions in a few moments. And yet with this knowledge, we press on Knowing this day could be our last, and failure is awaiting If only he had this strength. [/right]

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,474,true][atrb=height,500,true][atrb=cellPadding,25,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=background,http://img853.imageshack.us/img853/7449/moontable1.png][scrolly:w(174),h(365),sy] She could feel it, the judgmental stare as the stranger from the unknown looked her over; sized every inch of her up. His eyes traveled over her smaller frame, catching everything that was physical and showing it like it was on display just for him. What exactly was this unfamiliar looking for? The signs were already so blatantly obvious that he had the upper hand with how large and masculine he was; she was clearly the guppy of the pond. Perhaps he was checking her out; gathering some sort of sexual thrill from her sight? Yeah right. This was the real world, and no male would be stupid enough to pull a female form her pack just to have his way with her. So what, exactly, was he doing here?
Feeling somewhat ambitious, the fear began to ebb it’s way out of her small body; confidence taking it’s place comfortably. In a cocky sort of attitude, she moved her body in a way where he could get a glance at even more of her. It was a challenge; daring him to look just a little more, Moonbeam showing that she didn’t care less how much he saw. Tilting her head down, but still keeping it at a high angle, she gave a competitive glint of her silver eyes. She was unafraid now, knowing her pack mates weren’t all to far from where she stood.
When he spoke of joining, she hardly heard the words. He spoke them in a very sophisticated and intelligent manner, although that did not lighten her mood or her appreciation of the wolf. Perhaps it was that he had been a male that made her feel so uptight and uneasy about him, for she was slightly arrogant towards those opposite of her gender. That, or maybe even the fact that he had come so far in, and had threatened to wreak havoc on the unsuspecting wolves of Cerrac. With a gruff and extremely quiet growl, she silenced her thoughts, focusing on what Bella would want her to do.
“You came to join...?” Her words were quiet, held-back, apprehensive. “Ha!” She barked more loudly this time, a mocking tone taking rest on her vocals. “The proper way would have been at the borders. Why do you feel too good to do things appropriately?” Her head rose away from it’s tilted position, looking him dead on in the eyes, not holding back a single ounce of her attitude. It wasn’t that she was in a bad mood, she had come to figure out, but for once her instincts were taking control and she was protecting what was rightfully hers. And she had been right, too, for if he had called for a member at the borders, then her mood would be slightly more uplifted.
Regardless, he was here to join, and she supposed it was time to interrogate the inappropriate and rude male.
“Give me your name.” Her words were no longer a rude banter, instead just a strong and withheld tone. If he truly wanted to get in, he would quit wasting her time here and they would get down to business. If Moon felt he was good enough, perhaps she would call her alphess, although that seemed unlikely with how she felt this exact moment. You’re being harsh, quit it... The inner thoughts spoke; using a much more calm version of her own voice to try and keep her at a level head. [/scrolly]

The world was white. Snow floated down from the sky, and the sun's weak rays of light filtered through the gray clouds, making the snow sparkle and blind any weak eyes. From birds eye view one speck of black was seen in the forever white wonderland. A obsidian figure progressively moving towards the other camouflaged wolves downwind of her. Closing in to get a better look reveals average size femme, half buried in the snow, with sea-foam green eyes bright and intelligent. Her body was slim and fit, and did not show off the muscles she had. The red on her coat did not show, but it was there.
The day had been going slow. Pandora had been up since before dawn, moving along the borders before finally getting fed up and entering Cerrac. She didn't mean to meet anybody, she just wanted to get them to patrol the borders because of an intruder, which probably wasn't a smart idea anyways, but Pandora wasn't really thinking things through at the time. But now seeing the two confronting each other, Pandora had to step in, it wouldn't be okay if she let this opportunity pass. So Pandora had made a detour, moving farther into Cerrac lands, managing to go unnoticed until the very end.
As Pandora approached she held her head high, the air of confidence radiating from her. She sat down to the left of the male, wrapping her tail around her paws as she sat down daintily in the snow, no matter that it went up to her the middle of her legs. She yawned. "Well this is kind of fun," she said sarcastically, looking between the two. "So how is it going, like the weather?" The sarcastic words fell out of her maw without a thought. Pandora wasn't thinking, not a good sign.

\\[Dementis]// The pain hits us all, silently waiting to tear us up and break everything down into rubble. He listened to the words this softly colored femme spoke and almost chuckled. A bland sort of flavorless bemusement coursed through him and left just as fast. Her change of attitude and speech was an unexpected surprise, but not one he would bother to dwell on. Others could change and others could act individually, but he still wasn't planning on making it any sort of deal. They could work for his thoughts and respect. Then a new question. Just begging for a laughably sarcastic response from him. But once more just because the impulse sought his mind did not mean he lacked the foresight to know he ought to not let the words escape his maw. It was a thing called tact. And maybe just reason. Of course the next thing to come to his Attention was how he might not want to tell her the truth. It wasn't as if he was a disrespectful creature. Though, he had his moments, it was just more often than not easier to let others think they knew something about him and have them be quite wrong. Dementis it was not only a part of the right answer, it defined him better than anyone knew. And for that matter ever would know. The decision was a moment away from his steel crania when he was distracted. Vae Mihi! The brute thought as his constantly wandering focus yanked itself to the place where a new female was entering. He had to stop a narrowing of the orbs at the thought. It wasn't like he cared what particular gender of wolves were around him anyways. Fact being he just didn't like others a great deal. But something else made him want terrible to laugh. This sends of self confidence was dripping from the newcomer where as the slightly smaller blue girl had to make herself feel that way right now. The raven Fae was about as close to being like the pack member as he. Meaning not very. That thought suited her. Dementis gazed over now, watching the female set herself down next to him like she just didn't care. Score that for two, she was also impulsive. He couldn't help but reinforce that notation as she sarcastically spouted her own observations of the situation. A huge difference in itself. He didn't break from a strict rule of holding his maw shut. This was amusing as anything. Then the comment on the weather? Icing on a cake that was about to make him laugh like an idiot. He wasn't sure if the member of cerrac whom he still did not know the name of would find it quite as funny as he. Either way this was getting better by the minute. Then it happened. That form breaking tell tale smirk was as close as he got to any kind of showing the appreciation he had for her words. Now as much as he would love to see what the obsidian Fae was made of he had the sense to reply to the one he had first begun to talk to in the correctly, orderly fashion. First of course, "Well then. That's funny. Anyways, my name is Dementis. Dementis Lupicide Monstrum." Then there was the ebony Femme who had spoken. He supposed the introduction of himself could be as much directed at her as at the other. It was mostly a general thing. Back to that other thought. He honestly wondered what the blue girl would think. She hadn't liked his easily spoken little quip, so it was anyones guess how she would take this river of flowing sarcasm that came from the other wolf. It was a delightful thing for him, pondering what outcome would happen, and deciding how to affect it with bursts of his own spoken word. It didn't matter though. No matter what he was planning his own reply even in the few seconds after he procesed that all, "I don't know about her," He said looking at Moon, "but I don't think this went terribly well as of yet." And yet with this knowledge, we press on Knowing this day could be our last, and failure is awaiting If only he had this strength. [/right]

A growl threatened to pierce it’s way out of her throat; threaten him for being such an idiot and so disrespectful. She was no alpha, of course, but she felt that these were still her lands-- that when he entered, he should have lowered himself and shown proper respect. No, he did not do any thing to show his want of being here. Had it been Bella that met them, Moon felt that the leader would be a lot less appeased.
To make matters even worse, another mutt began to stroll right into the territory, traveling right up the pair already conversing. Something was off about this one, however. Her scent was not that of a loner, but not one that had been belonging to a pack. Sure, the stink held some sort of evident smell of confidence, but there was also something else to it. Allowing lids to fall, a glare was sent from the female in the direction of the mostly ebony one. Two against one, now? How weak and despicable. The mutts should have known better.
She joined them. Merely walked on over, sat on down, and threw in some sort of haphazard sarcasm that made the blue wolf’s skin crawl. As if making an unannounced appearance wasn’t enough, she also took the spotlight and talked before he did. The words that leaked over carried even more scent of distrust; something that now Moonbeam recognized. It had been the perfume of the Jager wolves; the male dominated pack that had recently been torn into pieces. What exactly was one of them doing here? Though unsure of what exactly happened to Bret, it was clear in the pale female’s mind that he had been murdered. No way about that. If Cerrac had anything to do with it? She did not know. Nonetheless this still made her excruciatingly uncomfortable.
To this male, her showing up was nothing short of amusement. In fact, it looked like he enjoyed it more rather than noticed it would take an even heavier blow to his chances of getting accepted. This whole scene just seemed fishy, and in Moon’s mind, it was all unacceptable. Would she even call for her alpha, or just try and chase them off? No, there would be no chance of getting them out without somebody’s help. She knew they had at least two fighters, but her sibling had been gone for awhile and the other did the morning routines so he could catch more time with a girl in the pack. Looked like it was going to be Bella she howled for, after all.
When he gave the name away, she almost spat into the snow at his feet to disapprove of it. Something about him seemed as if it was a lie; an aura marking that whatever he had just told her would not be the truth. But what was the point of lying about a name to a complete stranger? Nevertheless one that was holding his ticket of acceptance into the pack lands. Swishing an angry tail to the side, she decided that, regardless if it was his real name or not, that it was what he would be called. If he even made it in, that is.
Shooting a glare at the grey speckled bitch, he snorted. “Why the hell are you here, Jager?” The tone held obvious anger, clear and concise. Who cared that their alpha was pushing up daisies? They could still always be a threat, and Moonbeam would not be taking any chances by humoring her sarcasm. Though the packs were never enemies to begin with, it was always clear how they trotted on eggshells around one another. Having one of their previous members in the area was less than appealing to any wolf that had seen them.
Without much warning, or even without positioning her head into the right position, her jaw opened and a piercing howl broke through the air. It was not spent trying to make it sound beautiful; no, her usual feminine tone was unheard for this moment. It was a summoning howl, cut extremely short as there was no reason to keep yelling to her alpha. Her starry eyes never left the pair for even a second, and she relied entirely on Bella’s keen hearing and the echoing of the mountains to carry her words over. She didn’t care if these two thought lesser of her for calling for backup. Hell, it should have been considered a smart move; given the current position. [/scrolly]

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | [atrb=background,http://img36.imageshack.us/img36/9115/bellatm1.png] The fea’s purple eyes fluttered open. She had risen a lot later than normal, although it had still be pretty early. Gracefully, her legs stood her up. This morning had been a lot more smooth and gentle; a lot less jerky as things normally were. Quickly, she made her way out from the den, the sun smacking her in the face suddenly, causing her to squint. It certainly was a lot later than she usually got up, but that was fine, as stated just moments before.
Easing the rest of the way out from the cold rocky cave, she stepped a few inches forward. She had claimed this sleeping area as hers the day she moved in, noting that it was well concealed and a rather large space. Hell, as alpha, she deserved every positive thing about her den. Bella had worked hard to not only protect her members, but to also keep things running smoothly. Every single task that another wolf had, she had taken under her own wing. Not that it was a problem; she liked to be in control.
Looking down, she started at the snow. She had been a fan of this season, and so when winter came around it was second nature to walk with a bit more force. This helped her move, force the powder with her paw steps so she could get where she pleased. Moving down, she began to travel through it, but her motion was short. Coming up to a set of nearly fresh paw prints, she lowered her head, sniffing at them. Moonbeam? She glanced in the direction the prints were going, noticing that they were haphazard and tossed about as if Moon was running somewhere.
Curiously, she began to follow them, her eyes glancing from the ground beneath her and the prints laid out in front.
When she hit the top of a hill, her ear twitched when it heard a muffled sound. She looked down, and not too far from where the alpha stood was the blue wolf, as well as where the tracks ended. Though, Moonbeam was not the only wolf that occupied the clearing. One more which she did not recognize occupied the space. To her interest, she also noticed Moon was not acting as normal. In fact, she had dropped the happy-go-lucky personality and was sporting some sort of an attitude. Hum. She simply stated as she crouched low, now listening and watching everything unfold.
Then another began to trance up, taking place right next to the stranger. Slowly, her feet began to inch her forward; creeping up to get into a closer and more prepared area. Luckily, so far the leader had been unnoticed; although that was hardly a surprise for she was an expertise in stalking. Still, though... The two unknown wolves just coming out of nowhere? Something was out of line, and if anything happened, Bella would be right there to protect Moon.
Bella’s member howled for her, and in seconds she jolted from her position and toward the trio. Pouncing in front of her member, she let her teeth show, a low growl in her throat as she approached. Why are you here? Her voice was echoing her growl, her stance was ready to fight.

\\[Dementis]// A fronte praecipitium a tergo lupi If it were possible, he gave a sort of brows raised expression. It hadn't been that long since he was in a fight, so he felt no reason to get in another one so soon. In fact, if he weren't so deep in the snow, they might have been able to make out the crimson spatter that decorated his coat along with the ones that were true markings, the blood only distinguishable because it was drying by now, turning a sicken brownish shade. But none of that gave him pause, for dementis himself was a tad sickening. Still, even with the alpha feet away, poised to launch an attack in a split second, one had to give his calm some credit. But the insane don't often have much sense. Maybe that was what kept him from backing off instantly like most might. He just wasn't right. He didn't feel right. Not that it was an overly noticeable feature of his. Still, he did have reason to pause, seeing the display of aggression from Bella. He didn't fear a whole lot, and among those things was the fact that he knew he was slowly being swallowed up by his own madness. But he actually was close to fearing her. Most likely a predictable response, he mused. Now the reaction. He had to be careful. Acting nonchalant and lofty would gain him nothing here. He had to remind himself, Graviora manent. But was it true? He wasn't nearly at full strength, and this Bella seemed to be far better fed than he was. At the moment the only danger was her. And the fact that she still had a pack-member with her. Dementis seriously doubted the Fae who sat nearby would be of much help to him in any case. With that he prepared himself. His mind worked quickly, only seconds passing while a barrage of information and thoughts which processed. Now for a response. He searched his vocabulary for something to start off with. Well, his language was one he was far more accustomed to, " Hoc est verum et nihili nisi verum..." An easy enough start, though he doubted they would understand him. Few besides himself and his sister were left from his land of origin. Few, but he wouldn't be suprised if maybe someday he would find another who knew the words he spoke. Even if it was doubtful to ever happen, "I only came to join. But I suppose I'm more attached to trouble than I had previously thought." He mused. It was as he said that moment before, the truth and only the truth. The brute might be a liar, but that was not his course of action around one who was so likely to end him should she choose. Maybe he had acted foolishly before, no, he had been foolish. Now his skills kicked in a bit more. He would tread lightly from this moment on, words watched as closely as possible. Truth be told, he was here to join, but the reason why mystified even him. The wolf had never felt any compulsion to be around others before, and had been fine. It was plausible that the need to survive had driven him to instinctively go somewhere. Or a deeper need. Not only was he living alone until just now, the craziness was taking over his mind. Maybe the others here would be able to instill some sort of control in him. One of the important things he lacked was self control. How would he make it here with those dark urged in his mind? That was a good question, and even though he was facing the prospect, he mentally wished himself luck, an skeptically at that. Hoc natura est insitum, ut quem timueris, hunc semper oderis OOC: A fronte praecipitium a tergo lupi - A precipice in front, wolves behind Graviora manent - Greater dangers await Hoc est verum et nihili nisi verum - This is the truth and nothing but the truth Hoc natura est insitum, ut quem timueris, hunc semper oderis - It's an innate thing to always hate the one we've learnt to fear
