Uncertain paws moved lightly across the cold ground. The air was icy cold, and large drifts of snow surrounded a large rocky entrance. A sheet of water covered most of the entrance, but even the water-loving varg dared not get wet in these icy cold waters, or they risked death. Large clouds were billowing beyond, promising fresh snowfall on the already snow-covered land. The uncertain wolf let out a violent shiver as a gust of wind blew through her fur. She stepped right in front of the waterfall, and stopped.
For a month now, Rose had wandered alone after she stumbled upon Moon. She knew she lived in this pack, and she knew she needed to join a pack, or she would die. She could have chosen the other pack, but Moon was Rose's only friend, and she ran in these pack lands. She wasn't even sure if she'd be accepted into the pack, and she let out a wary whimper. Taking deep breaths, she finally managed to calm her breathing. She stepped back, raised her head, and let out a howl.
The howl started almost soft, but confidence stirred in her chest, and eventually crescendoed to fortissimo. Her breath billowed from her mouth, and it almost looked like she was breathing smoke rather than howling. But after a moment, she ended her call. For a split second, adrenaline ran swiftly through her veins still afterwards, but she realized her call meant a wolf was probably going to find her. She let her head drop, and she felt weak in the knees. Flattening her ears, she let out a whimper.
For a while, she let fear consume her. Confidence hit her like a tsunami, but the aftermath came quickly after. Shuddering and whimpering in worry, she realized she mustn't look like a coward. She knew she was shy, but she had to make a good first impression, if it was the pack leader to come. She had to prove she wanted to be in the pack, to help the pack even. She perked her ears, and almost thought she heard the wind whisper to her. "You have to prove you have dignity, yet be respectful...if you do not, who would want you in their pack?" With that, she straightened up, shook her pelt, and sat down. She kept her head slightly down in respect of the pack, but her tail wagged, as if to greet any wolf that might come to her call.

Though the pack had it's own hunter, and she provided well enough, it was still a little slow here and there. Besides, Moonbeam was not incapable of fending for herself, and so when she woke this morning with a rumble in her belly, she decided to take matters into her own paws. Rint could probably use a day to herself, regardless. Not that her skills or ambition were doubted, it was just something that would be done more in kindness than disapproval.
For her meal, she had come to the conclusion that within the packlands, most meat was either hidden, or too well adapted to the surroundings to be able to escape. That was why she had chosen to leave her homeland in search of something to eat. It was a little more dangerous, and she had been unsure of whether or not Bella would accept such an action, but she figured she would be fine. It was for sustenance, right? If she were to go hungry, she would not run at her best, and therefore would be useless for her leader in sudden cases. Perhaps she was really just over thinking it, and Bella would mind, regardless of the situation.
Stepping nearer to her home, suddenly a jittery howl cascaded her eardrums. A guest! She thought excitedly, her feet bolting from the ground as they ran in the direction of the icy entrance. The waterfall was unfrozen, but nearly everything around it had been. The river at the bottom was crusted over in a thin layer of ice (except the exact base of the waterfall) and even the lake from within was blanketed; though that was nearly a year round effect. Mouth clamped hard on her prized erican, she sprinted over to the now-in-view passageway.
Slowing her pace, Moonbeam approached the newcomer slowly; her view just barely covered by the surroundings. Dropping her prey down behind a rock (so it would not be prized by this stranger and she could enjoy it later) she finally moved over to greet the other. That was when her mouth dropped, her eyelids raising in utter surprise and suspension. A wag was already rocking her tail to and fro, an excited yip almost bursting out of her lungs. It had been the very first wolf she had met here; whom had saved her life and also befriended the blue wolf. She was sweet and cute, to boot. With a small jump forward, she barked.
"Rosa!" [/scrolly]

For a long time Rosa sat frozen, waiting for someone to come along. She was getting tired, and her muscles were stiff from the cold. She stretched a moment, and thought about just giving up. She lay her ears flat on her head and let her head sink again. Her once wagging tail sagged. She sighed, but decided to wait a few more minute. She even thought she heard something behind her, but she didn't bother picking up her ears and listening.
Just when she thought she was going to give up, she heard faint paw steps in the snow. She grew rigid for a moment, with fear striking her for a moment. "Rosa!" The fear vanished in a moment, and her eyes widened with surprise. She stood up and turned around. It was the wolf she had desperately tried to save, despite her lack of climbing skills. She hadn't though she'd see her again, but after she left, she had become lonelier than ever. So she set out, trying to find out where she lived, and her heart had jumped in delight to find her home.
To Rosa, she wasn't so bad. She still felt a pinch of her usual shyness, but she wagged her tail slightly in greeting and kept her head and ears up. "Hello, Moon. It's good to see you again." At that, Rosa's tongue lolled out of her mouth in a content pant, and her tail wagged a little faster. She then walked up to Moon, though rather slowly, and sniffed her nose, as if to say "Hello, I'd rather not sniff your butt, but I'll sniff your nose instead."
Yet, as quickly as Rosa had came up to sniff her nose, she backed away a few feet again. She, being an oddball, felt the traditional way to greet a wolf, was far too vile. Yet, now her face felt hot, for Moon might not know she sniffed her nose. Letting out a whimper of shame, she bowed her head. "Fool fool fool..." The words spread through her entire being like a forest fire, making her sink in the snow, and look at Moon with an embarrassed expression. "Sorry..." she mumbled, and finally finished sinking in the snow.

Tongue lolled from Moonbeam’s mouth, regardless of the fact that it was freezing outside; air escaping in cascades as a smokey looking mist. The tail that was attached at the base of her body began to whip the air back in and forth, causing a short of whooshing noise. Being dubbed an ‘annoyance’ within her pack, it was nice to know that she at least had a friend around; especially if Rosalina was here to join!
Taking an unhesitant step forward, she leaned her head in, feeling the soft greeting of a wet tongue on the side of her face. Smiling, Moon only returned the kindness by popping her tongue out right back, licking the side of Rosa’s face. The words were kind, although it was obvious that they had been slightly forced. Was she seriously still shy around her?! Seriously, she had helped Moonbeam and could have potentially saved her life! With a chuckle, she gave a look of playfulness.
“Tsk tsk-- still shy?” Though her tone was light and cheery, the words that were now released were true and exactly what Moon thought. “C’mon, where’s your spirit?!” She barked, head dropping low and tail curled up in a playful position over her back. Starry silver eyes shot a look of ‘get ready’, a warning that would be used in moments. Until, of course, Rosa marched forward and gave a greeting sniff of the nose.
Though they did not touch, for about a moment a static feeling bolted down the spine of the blue wolf. All movements stopped as the jewels within her head looked up to the mostly lavender femme. Although Moon had ‘been around’, and had met quite a few wolves that she had felt more for than just friends, something about Rosa suddenly sparked within her. Taking a tentative step backward, she peered into the speckled eyes of her friend, a grin growing. She would not call this a crush, but she certainly felt protective of the shy lithe loner. With Rosa’s feet sinking in the snow, a very quiet sway of her tail showed her now ready to comfort attitude.
Trotting forward, she leaned down and gave Rosa another large lick on the top of her head. A grin was plastered on her features, and a very calm position overtaking her body. Sitting down next to her friend, she spoke calmly, trying to comfort, “You don’t need to be so shy and uptight around me. I promise, any action you take, does not bother me.” Leaning her muzzle in, she nudged her shoulder, trying to get the pinker colored female to stand to her feet. Kindness was the only bit of personality showing presently, concerned for the other wolfess.
“Time to call Bella, Rosa.” Although she did not ask if that was her purpose for coming here, she assumed that (based on the howl) Rosalina was here to join the Cerrac wolves. Knowing her leader, she would be happy that there was a new potential member, but annoyed that it one that actually got along with Moonbeam. Deep down, she knew that she was not hated by the alphess, but she did know that she was not on her list of favorites. Shaking out her head, she decided that she would stand up to the Queen if need be; just to try and help her friend get within. [/scrolly]

Rosa watched Moon's mouth as she spoke to her. Indeed, she still was shy. She didn't completely understand why but, she was. Maybe it was the feeling that was starting to build up inside of her. She couldn't help but to be slightly shy around this female wolf. She was, after all, very beautiful. At least, in her eyes. She liked the way her light blue fur ruffled slightly in the cold wind. She liked the pale moon shape by her eye. And she couldn't help but to feel captivated and frozen when she looked at her with those sparkling, icy silver eyes. She suddenly felt very warm at these feelings, embarrassed almost, and suddenly looked away for a moment. But her eyes couldn't keep away from the she-wolf's face for long.
Her eyes suddenly grew round as she watched Moon walk up to her. What she wasn't expecting, was her reaction to her giving her a big lick on her head. As soon as she was finished, Rosa suddenly stood and swooned a bit. She only slightly comprehended what Moon was saying to her. All she understood was "don't have to be" and "promise". She shook herself, shocked. It wasn't until the world stopped spinning that she opened her tightly closed eyes and looked at Moon, wondering how she was going to react to that. She suddenly felt very hot and uncomfortable. She didn't want to admit her strong feelings towards Moon, nonetheless her figure it out. She wasn't even sure what these feelings were.
She took a sudden deep breath of air, and pretended like nothing happened. "Time to call Bella, Rosa". Rosa nodded shyly, now trying desperately to act normal. She fidgeted, but didn't let her body slump like before. Her ears twitched, but she didn't, or couldn't, keep her eyes off of Moon. The feeling was practically pouring from her heart, but she couldn't admit it to herself. "I can't like her...can I?" Thoughts like that raced through her head. She was uncertain about her feelings towards Moon, though she was certain she wanted to join her pack. She was more nervous about being rejected than anything else. If Bella didn't accept her, then what? She would be crushed. Moon was Rosa's only friend.
"Friend... thought Rosa. Her mind was wheeling now. Her heart tingled in a strange way, and she wanted to tell her how she was feeling. But her mind was calling her crazy. How could she be attracted to someone she barely knew? A female, too. She didn't understand, or even think it was possible. But there Moon was, right in front of her. Her heart didn't race, like she's heard. It seemed to beat stronger, instead. It was almost like she rubbed some kind of magic into her heart. Like she was helping her open up slightly. Rosa knew she would always be shy around strangers, but after only meeting Moon once, she felt more comfortable around her than she had around any other wolves. She didn't feel shy, so much, she felt awkward instead.
Moon stood there a while, it seemed to Rosa. Her speckled brown eyes were watching her every move, trying to figure out what was going through her mind. Her heart tugged, and her brain froze. Her heart was winning, but she fought hard against it. She didn't think saying anything to Moon was a good idea. Or was it? What if this female might be attracted to her, too? Although she wanted to believe it, the thought was replaced with "She's probably this nice to everyone..." Rosa wanted to howl in frustration, but she bit her tongue. She let out a very soft whimper. Her chest started to ache from fighting.
Although Moon looked ready to call to her leader, Rosa couldn't fight her attraction towards this beautiful wolf anymore. Fight it as she may, her ears pinned back, her tongue lolled from her maw, and she walked over to her. She felt a rush of adrenaline, yet she still felt scared as hell. Her tail wagged, and she put her head down, though only slightly. "Moon... she started off with, trying to measure her reaction, you look very beautiful today..." As soon as she said it, the adrenaline seemed to leave her entire being. She couldn't believe what she just said, but she didn't take it back either. Her body shook furiously, scared to death. She suddenly looked into two silver pools, and the shaking nearly stopped. Her body relaxed slightly, and she nuzzled Moon's nose very lightly. "I'm ready to convince Bella why I'd be great in her pack. Oh and, Moon...I think I kinda like you..."

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,474,true][atrb=height,500,true][atrb=cellPadding,25,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=background,http://img853.imageshack.us/img853/7449/moontable1.png][scrolly:w(174),h(365),sy] A cool winter breeze found it’s way into the corridor of the caves, blowing down the hall towards the pair of wolves. Softly, it ruffled the fur along the body of the blue female, not nearly chilling enough to send shivers through the sensory. With this serene moment, Moonbeam felt her head clear of everything, fierce silver eyes hiding behind their blankets. The lungs stole the moment, breathing in deeply and filling to utmost capacity. After holding it for what seemed to be a few seconds, it began to travel back up her throat and out her snout, surrounding it with a light mist. Then the wonderland was destroyed and the wolfess was pulled back into reality.
The now opened eyes were graced with the appearance of her friend standing now, though somehow she didn’t seem normal. Instead, she looked as if she had been dizzy; perhaps she raised herself too quickly? Sometimes a head rush happened to Moon, but normally she would push it to the back of her mind until the feeling eventually went away. With hope, Rosalina wasn’t feeling sick; knowing her nerves it wouldn’t be too unusual. Still, regardless of what was going on, the silvery-blue wolf took a step forward, prepared to catch the other if she were to lose her balance and fall to the ground.
Chances took a much better turn, as the wavering stopped and the wolf’s equilibrium within seemed to recompose itself. With a very small, and hardly noticeable motion, she sighed in relief. The healer wolf, Khul (whom Moon had met once before and had quite enjoyed spending time with) had recently disappeared. By the way things looked, she had just moved on to a different land; probably where she was needed more. Sadly enough, she knew that her missing wasn’t going to cause a big difference within her life, it just sucked losing a good friend.
Then the eyes, the insistent and unfaltering stares that Rosalina kept giving to her was almost nerve wracking. For some unexplained reason, Moonbeam wanted to crack into her head and figure out what exactly was going on in there. Something... extraordinary, she bet, for the body language and heat that read off of her body was overwhelming. Did she feel it, too? For something that she hadn’t even noticed a few moments ago, she suddenly felt the strongest urge to join in on whatever it was. Maybe it was the thought of adventure that peaked her interest? Or... maybe it was sharing a few more moments with this lovely lady? Whatever if was, it rose the once calm body and spiked the adrenaline.
A whimper broke the silence; something that had gone unnoticed up until it was suddenly shattered. The little ears perked into the air, taking a curious step toward the wolf in concern and confusion. She felt almost motherly, though it was a different sort of affection that was now burning within her gut. Oh god, could this wolf be a crush?
Movement then broke her concentrated eyesight, as the wolfess now walked in her direction. Watching her tongue drop out of her mouth, she saw the tiniest drop of saliva slide down it’s crease until it hit the floor. She pulled her head back, holding it in the air for a few seconds while she attempted to dissect the situation and find out what was going on. With the wag of a tail, the air was calmed and her face didn’t hold such a concerned look. It softened, and a smile rose up her soft black lips. The silver eyes traced their way down her face and looked at her mouth next, the blue ears perking up as she noticed words were beginning to pour out.
Her words were soft, delicate and flower-like; just like her. The compliment was unexpected, but it was not shoved away. However, there was no secret that it flattered Moon, as a rosy pink shade ran up to her cheeks, filling it in instants. A shy smile slid right up her maw next, words leaking out as they tried to reassemble herself again. “T-thank you.” Though she did not stop, instead the pink lips went on. Almost taken back from the confession, she stared wordlessly into the speckled eyeballs. Gasps escaped in small amounts, as words attempted to make themselves form. How could she react to such a thing?
“I-I like you t-too...” If her skin was visible, it’d be a very soft pink by now. [/scrolly]
