Small paws walked delicately across warm sand. The heat felt nice on her paws, and she let out a content sigh. The snow had been a curse to her, and her wings wouldn't allow her to fly. So she headed to warmer weather, to feel warmth in her body and fly even.
Aponi walked on, taking in the warmth of the day. A flight breeze ruffled her fur and made her shudder at its warmth. She spread her delicate wings, drying them in the sun as she walked. Looking around, she noticated a flat rock, directly in the sun. Her eyes lit up, and she spread her wings, lept, and jumped up onto the rock.
Although the sand was warm, it didn't compare to the rock. It made Aponi sink onto her belly and roll onto her back. She sighed with content, for the warmth relaxed her aching muscles. "This is nice...I do miss my plants though..." and with that, strawberry vines wrapped around the rock and filled the air with a sweet scent. "Bettter..." she murmered; and sunk into a deep sleep.
The nap didn't last long, however, for nightmares filled her dreams. She woke up for a while and stared at the clouds. The sun had dissappeared, but the rock held its warmth. Aponi sensed rain, and moments later, the rain began to fall and the wind picked up. With a dissappointed sigh, she leaped off the rock and began to run. Her goal was to find a cave, or anywhere to get out of the wind and rain.
Her prayers came true soon, however, and she found a small cave, just big enough for her to squeeze in. It looked like a boulder once was set in the side of the hill, but had somehow been moved. For a regular sized wolf, it would have been impossible to squeeze in. But Aponi, being very small, fit perfectly. The cave was warm, too. She curled up, and attempted to sleep again.
