Yellow pupil-less eyes glared at the forest floor, the snow beneath the white tinted paws slightly was fresh, and if it weren’t for his body would continue getting covered. A voice raged within his mind, yelling and screaming at him with such bitchy attitude that he wanted to scream. A low growl emitted out of the depths of his throat, scolding the female that spoke in such a rude manner. Exactly who did she think she was?! With an annoyed snort, he yanked his head from the floor and began to slink away quickly.
His feet were fast, his temper already pushed to it’s limit. He had no idea where he was headed, his feet meandering in an unmarked fashion. As he slinked away, his motion was very smooth; stepping over roots and rocks, making absolutely sure that they would not be damaging his foot. Although, these steps were actually unplanned, but very fluid and seemed strategic. Jumping a fallen tree, his steps finally stopped, anger in his posture and his eyes looking up as if he were staring at his brows. A very loud growl jumped out of his mouth. “Shut the hell up Vanessa!”
And with that, the thinking paused, but only for a moment. “...Would you look in front of you for once?” Snorting, a very annoyed grumble trickling out of his mouth, he actually complied. Dropping his eyes down slightly, he noticed a large cave opening. Up until now, a small snow storm had gradually begun to sneak up on him. Had he been housed, fed properly, he would not mind - but that had been the thing; Varien had not been with a pack for quite some time and was actually beginning to grow slightly weak Somehow, this felt like good luck.
With the female in his head finally quiet enough for him to concentrate, he took a few steps forward. His nose was placed in the air, trying to scent for anything other surrounding wolves. Somehow, he felt watched; unsafe - but there had been absolutely no sign of anybody else being there. Still suspicious, he only took a few more cautious steps forward, slowly approaching the cave.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | [atrb=background,http://img51.imageshack.us/img51/2334/rivottm1.png] Rivot had been getting increasingly bad headaches; causing his mind lately to consistently be in a whirl of confusion. It hadn’t been too long since his leader, Bret, had passed, but already he had felt the terrible stings of being a loner. Most wolves of Archaic knew all too well that they had to be dependent on their ‘family’ or pack; as that was what meant survival in this realm--but to join who you had once considered an enemy? Even with the threat of death edging its way into the crimson and ebony wolf, he could just not bring himself to plead at the borders of Cerrac. That was worse than death.
Instead, he wondered aimlessly through the forest, day and night in search of practically nothing. Day after day went by that he had begun to grow weaker, though the effects were not great yet. If he were lucky, he could go a few months without needing to jump into pack life, but even with as large as he was, chances were he wouldn’t last. Nobody did when they lived out here, because the slowly pressing issue of even basic instincts began to disappear. Maybe if chances were for him, he would run into a non-allianced healer and increase his chances to live just slightly longer.
The tread of his feet was abnormally slow, taking an almost relaxed pace as he traversed the forest. He had no destination, and was set into motion with only the motivation of finding his one true friend. Though they had only spoken once, he felt more attachment for the small male wolf than he had for any of his former pack mates. In fact, he felt more at home when he was looking for his buddy than when he was actually laying in his comfortable and warm den. Too bad his chances of seeing him again were minimal, as it was not easy to really find the muddy red male.
A voice, then, caught the wolf’s attention; all of his deep rambling thoughts breaking away and suddenly fierce purple eyes looked ahead. He hadn’t known he was so close to another wolf; didn’t even stop to smell his surroundings. His own paw steps were paused now, and he only turned his head up to look at the other male wolf. Who, exactly, was he telling to shut up? Rivot’s body was paused, only staring blankly as he tried to figure out what had just happened. The name he voiced was female, and obviously he must have known her. Though.... there was no one else around. Flicking his tail, he whipped the air in a focused fashion. It seemed the other hadn’t quite figured out he was here yet.
Paws were once more active, stepping around a tree that had presently been in his path. It seemed they had noticed the same thing, as snow had begun to lightly float down from the sky. He was in no mood to fight, knowing that his health was a lot more important now than it had ever been before. Instead of his normal aggressive behavior, he entered in a much more subtle and calm way. Royal purple gaze kept on the other, looking only for a few more moments before pulling the full attention.
“Looks like we’ll have to share it.” It, of course, was referring to the cave.

The male had taken the silence inside his head as a good thing, and quickly took in the smell of his surroundings. There had been a difference in the air. There was another wolf out there somewhere, and it was moving. The outward fight that had happened only moments ago was now moved inside of his head, causing a very sudden silence. Though, the argument had not at all ceased.
’I don’t want to fight here, but we have no choice. Shut up! No! Just be kind for a change!’ His thoughts continued in this manner, a never ending fight between himself and Vanessa. They pursued until the silence of the external world was ruptured. The thoughts paused, and everything was still for a moment. Bright yellow eyes drifted toward the sound, although none of his body had done the same. They stopped on the form of a slightly larger crimson and ebony brute.
His ear twitched, a simple thought escaping, ’Odd, another fea has not come to find me?’ Though he was out of his mind, Varien had little interaction with a male as it seemed females always sought him out. Only one ever lasted, as he did not stay with a girl long enough to even get acquainted. Males had seemed to avoid him like he were a bullet. Good thing, too, because in all reality; he may has well been one.
With a deep exhale, he faced the wolf that had addressed him. Varien’s pupil-less eyes met with the violet ones. Sudden curiosity struck him when he observed the other male, noticing that he looked slightly weak. A small short chuckle choked it’s way out of the red and white muzzle of the crazed wolf. ”Nice of you to assume. But whatever. I guess one other won’t hurt.” His voice was low, emotionless, and so far he had no reason to disapprove of sharing a shelter. [/color][/blockquote]

Rohtang slept soundly. kept in a deep sleep within his cold and damp cave. He was a little weary and been a lot more tired than usual; the reason for this was unknown. Lately, he tended to sleep towards the mouth of the cave, in hopes that the other wolf might come seeking him out. He knew that this was a bad idea, and that the back of the cave was warmer and had better company.
Just as a screaming cold gust of wind came slicing through the cave entrance, Rohtang jumped to his feet, awake from the unfamiliar smell of a wolf. Some of it had seemed familiar, but yet somehow new at the same time. He stood there, hesitantly looking out into the cold. ‘You think that’s him? Should I head out there?’ he thought to himself, questioning the possibilities. Since he could smell the wolf, he thought that it could be his long lost friend. But what if it was a new, different wolf? He knew another battle might put him to rest, whether he won it or lost it.
After a few minutes, he decided that he was going to head out. He didn’t take off running as he normally would have done, as he was not in a huge rush. This time he would try and conserve his energy instead of blast through it. Stepping to the mouth, he looked out into the world once more. It didn’t take long for him to notice the many colored wolf standing not twelve feet from the opening; he stuck out like a sore thumb! Rohtang dropped and began to watch the stranger, never taking his eyes off of the fucker.
He kept his eyes locked onto the wolf for a few more minutes, before he noticed another smell. It was the smell of Rivot. This time is was strong, giving off the clue that he was close! Naturally, he began to wag his tail, but stopped it nearly as fast, his eyes darting back to the stranger. ‘Fuck! I hope that bitch didn’t hear that...’ He thought to himself, eyes narrowing as he glared.
Rivot came into sight then, causing Rohtang to get overexcited, although very nervous at the same time. He began to wonder if the other wolf brought this odd colored bastard with him. Did he mean good, or did he want to kill him? ‘I’ll wait for them to pass me, and see if they decide to wait outside or call for me...’

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | [atrb=background,http://img51.imageshack.us/img51/2334/rivottm1.png] They caught each other’s eyes, pausing for a still silence as the different male wolf just oddly stared at him. From what he could tell, there were no pupils in those brightly colored yellow eyes. That was odd. He had never seen a wolf in his few years of life that did not have a pupil; even if it had been a different color than black. Could this wolf possibly be blind? No, because even then they had a faded blue or even a grey one. Although he did not let an expression rule over his face, he did in fact hold a distinct curiosity about those yellow orbs.
A short chuckle broke the silence; one that held some sort of crazed tone to it that it nearly made Rivot take a step backwards. He did not, however, step back. Instead, he gave hardly a reaction to the laugh, only responding with an uncaring flick of his ears. His tail whipped at the wind, as well, as a small bit of snow trickled it’s way onto the tip of his nose. He paid it hardly any mind, and let it melt from the warmth his body created. At least the wolf did not lash out harshly, because then they would certainly have a problem.
The words spoken were not nice ones, although they technically weren’t rude, either. If anything, they were flaccid; loose and very careless. Rivot squinted his eyes together, giving a look of question to the different male. Something was very odd and abnormal about him, and he could not quite place his paw on it. Whatever. He took this small act of ‘kindness’, and took a few slow steps forward. Of course, they paused for a second so he could watch the other for any sort of bad reaction.
Unexpectedly, a familiar scent wafted it’s way up the brute’s nose. It felt like his whole body paused, ears suddenly more alert than they had been before. His nostrils wrinkled as they tried to scent out the little wolf. He was Rivot’s one and only true friend, and even if it was an old smell, it excited him almost instantly. Suddenly he was reminded why he was searching through this forest instead of anywhere else. He lifted his head, smelling for the spunky wolf. His aroma was certainly more fresh than stale.
Suddenly, a thump caught his attention. He jerked his head in the direction of the cave, staring intently at it as if it owed him something. Tilting his head, he curiously leaned forward; his ears folded a little. He took a few more steps closer, so that he was now touching the rock that was the entrance to the cave. Quietly, he called out, “Rohtang...?”

The red wolf seemed to act as all the other males had when they met him; covered in curiosity and suspicion, but attempting not to let any of it show. Hell, to be honest, had it not been for the pickiness of Vanessa, he never would have seen it. She forced him to pay attention to every little bit, every single detail; every look that they had in their eyes. She was precise and controlling, although he would have been happy without noticing these stupid little things. Too bad there was no way for her to leave his ever-arguing head.
A cool breeze rubbed past his coat, though each color of the quad shaded pelt stayed exactly where it should be. His many mixes of whites, red, maroons, and grays seemed content on where they stand, regardless of the picky weather. Once again, the annoying wolf within his head tried to start a conversation; taking the chance to speak first to him. ’Good job, Varien; I’m proud of you. You don’t have to fight all of the time.’ His head turned, yellow eyes practically glowing as they stared at the ground. A muffled growl found it’s way out of his maw, a low voice putting her back into place. “Shut up Vanessa, I don’t need your pointless inputs.” [/i] Cooly lifting his head back up, he looked to the purple eyed wolf; his eyes keenly watching as he made a small movement. As soon as the stepping had started, it stopped very suddenly and abruptly. He raised one eyebrow, curious as to what this wolf was doing, exactly. However, it seemed it may have been answered as a new smell reached his nose. Taking another small sniff, he revealed it was certainly a male wolf. A sigh slipped it’s way from his jaws. ‘Another one?! Really?!’ ‘Varien, it doesn’t hurt to be a little social.’ ‘I didn’t even want the first one to be around! Why would I want another?!’ He had trouble not yelling what he was thinking as the argument continued, Varien trying to shut out the outside world so that he wouldn’t. He was snapped back into reality, however, when a name was called out. He remained motionless, and for once Vanessa was silent. Turning around to face the other that had already stepped into the cave, he stayed focused on the slightly bigger wolf.[/font][/color][/blockquote]
