Pawstep upon pawstep, the great antlered brute made his way from his small place in the dens that he had claimed for his own. Adiemus was now proud to be a part of a pack, proud to be the only allied healer between the two packs. Though, to some it would make him seem like a follower, but he saw it as an opportunity to move up the chain in life, as well within the Cerrac hierarchy, that that was what he planned to do. He knew that the black she-wolf who lead Cerrac, Bella, showed interest in him from the first moment that she laid eyes on him, and he was going to milk that for every second of it.
It had been several months, the ice had formed once again upon the stone of the mountain, snow now covered the landscape in thick sheets up to the great brute’s elbows, it was almost like he could disappear into the sudden blast of winter weather, and he liked it that way. His first pawstep into the snow was a slight shock for it to be this early in the day for him to even be awake at this hour, his jet-black pads stung in the cold of the frozen footing, but it was soon to be numbed, and ignored as the brute gracefully picked his footfalls carefully, attempting to look elegant while holding his ‘crown’ high into the air.
Adiemus stopped for a moment, lifting his crystalline blue gaze up to the dark sky, it was going to snow again, he could just tell, and he was happy about it. He never really, truly understood how other wolves would have such a hate for the winter when it was such a time of hidden beauty. So what if you went hungry for one night, you would never run the risk of overheating, and with a thick winter coat to grace their shoulders, they would not freeze at night, it was beyond the great brute, the reasons why other wolves despised the winter time.
Looking back down to his paws, careful not to let his crown touch the snowy white landscape, he could almost see a seamless transition between his pigment less coat, and the snow, he liked blending in, it gave him a sense of power in a strange sort of way, and to him power was everything. He let out a sharp breath and lifted his head, hoping to see some sort of indication that he was not the only canine being to be awake, or even the only one to be still in the dens, taking into account that most woke up early to beat the morning cold-snap.

Tectonic
Wakey Wakey [/color] It was so cold during the winter and yet the beauty of it all overpowered any and all the discomfort it brought along to most wolven. It wasn't so much the lower temperatures that gave winter its beauty; it was the harshness that came as a result. Mother Earth never looked more peaceful then after the first snowfall, when the land is gently blanketed a pure ivory sheet, undisturbed and untouched.
The usual nighttime cold had seeped within her den , abosring into the rock that was part of her bed. Unlike most wolven, who only used their bodies as insulators, Tonic had taken the special care to go out and collect as much dry material as she could find to bring it back to her den to construct a sort of bedding. Not that hard rock wasn't comfortable or anything, she just preffered to have a bit of padding between her and stone, since it helped to insulate the heat that she radiated thanks to the fire that lived inside of her belly.
First light had already come and gone without so much as disturbing Tectonic. She'd slept soundly through it, that is until the sun started to climb higher in the sky and reflect its blinding rays against the ivory powder. The dark dame's consciousness began to stir as the morning light filtered through her dark lens and irritated her turquoise eyes. Next time, I'm sleeping with my back to the entrance. she thought irritatingly, peeling her eyes open as she came into full awareness. A series of rapid blinking sessions were needed in order to bring her vision back to proper working condition before she could regain her footing. Once standing, spine was arched in a feline-manner before it was enlongated, ensuring a proper stretch of sleep-weary muscles.
With the morning ritual of awakening complete, the obsidian, crimson tainted vixen stepped out of her somewhat secluded den and into the light of the early morning sun. Tonic basked in the warm rays, even going as far as extending her feathered wings so they too could feel the warmth of the rays. Whilst her wings warmed up, the dame took the opportunity to let her eyes wander the area surrounding the den. At first glance, everything seemed to be normal with no sight of another lupine, but a slight movement from the corner of her vision caught her attention. Upon closer inspection, she came to the realization that there indeed was a wolf nearby. The reason for her failure to notice him right away was due to the fact that his coat was nearly the exact same shade as the ivory powder the covered the lands.
As she watched him, it seemed that he too was looking to see if anyone had awoken. She had the brief urge to call out and make her presence known but in the same second that simple urge disappeared and she remained silent. He would notice her soon enough. She would just have to wait.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,450,true] | [atrb=background,http://i55.tinypic.com/dzbi47.jpg] Adiemus didn’t quite know what to do with himself yet, was he going to leave and look for some nonexistent prey, was he going to patrol the border, or was he going to stay within the dens on this glorious cold winter day, but he just could not decided. It didn’t help the fact that he had been awake long before the females of the pack, he hoped that none of them would wake up and see him leaving because then, they’d want to talk, and the brute was not in a very social mood, he wasn’t exactly a social butterfly at all really, especially in a pack in which he is drowning in estrogen, he shrugged to himself, letting out a sharp exhale, clouding his face and crystalline blue eyes once again.
He decided to think to himself for a little bit, his mind slowly drifted to what he thought of each individual packmembers, the one he thought the most highly of was the first of the menagerie of females in which he had met, Moonbeam, he could see her potentially getting on his nerver(which took a lot), but she had a fun personality, her childishness giving her a quaint heir of cuteness, one that he would only be able to stand for a certain amount of time. Then there was Bella; he didn’t even know what to think about his alphess, he really didn’t speak to her often, he knew, however, that she did regard him very highly within her pack. Then there were the others; Sunfeather, Nyx, Demonio Zephyr, Tectonic, and all of the others whom he never truly spoke to.
As he thought to himself, he didn’t notice a dark black female walk up, he coat tainted with bits of deep red in them, it was a stark contrast to his own pelt or a pure white, with his pearlescent antlers, and crystalline blue eyes. He looked to her out of the corner of his eyes, she just stood there not calling out, doing nothing, he was quite shocked at her silence ’This must be Tectonic… the one Bella was talking about.’ he couldn’t quite recall what Bella had said about her, but it must not matter because she was a quiet one, he liked that, it was a break from the hyperactive Moonbeam whom he had taken a liking too.
He shrugged to himself, assuming she wasn’t going to call to him, and seeing the expectant expression that was painted vibrantly upon her face, he guessed she was waiting for him to notice her. He like this fae more and more every second, ’Quite a lady…’ he thought to himself, within his family the men would always start a conversation, not the faes, they would only respond to it if a male had started the conversation, unless they were in a large group with no males. He turned his head to her, still holding his crown high, with a stag-like elegance, he called to her ”Hello madame, and who are you, may I ask?” he slightly shocked himself by the formality of his voice, she was just a packmember, why was he wording his sentences so formally ”Excuse the formality…” he mumbled to himself.

Tectonic
Nice To Meet You [/color] The sun had all but warmed her sleep weary muscles all along her body, allowing her to tuck her wings once again against her back as she padded down the rock face towards the ivory male she'd spotted. Footfalls were quiet, but not enough to be called silent. She was sure he was aware of her presence, consciously or not, so she didn't bother to hide her approach. Besides, her obsidian coat would make it impossible for her to move unnoticed; atleast on the ground.
When she was within several feet of the white knight, she halted her adavance, her crimson dipped right front paw standing out against the ivory in a stark contrast in comparison to the rest of her sable paws. By then, the brute had come to notice her presence, as she knew he would, yet still she wasn't motivated into making the first move so to speak. She was quite comfortable with staying silent and waiting to see what exactly it was that he would do. From the looks of it, or atleast what she deducted from his facial expressions, he appeared to be somewhat relieved and somewhat shocked at her silence. Tonic pondered the reason for such expressions for several moments until his barotonic lyrics brought her attention back to him, her turquoise gems meeting his crystalline blue ones.
A small smile creased the dame's lips at the brute's excuse for his formality. There is no need for an apology sir. Formality is always acceptable. I am Tectonic. Who may you be? Her voice flowed out smoothly, confidently, in response to his question. It slightly surprised her that he was so formal upon first greeting. Most brutes had forgotten the gentlemanly way of behaving around others and the fact that this ivory knight had not pleasantly surprised her. She didn't know him yet, although she was sure that would change soon, but he was already on her good side.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,450,true] | [atrb=background,http://i42.tinypic.com/152erfq.png] The female stood several feet from him, her deep crimson colored fur stood out like a sore thumb in the crystal white powder that sat around them. His sky blue eyes stayed locked on the female, he knew she was pack, but the question was, was she at all like Bella? He stayed slightly wary of the female, not to turn his back on her if she moved, not to take his eyes off of her. “There is no need for an apology sir. Formality is always acceptable. I am Tectonic. Who may you be?” her voice was smooth, and her sentences worded in a confident, yet not arrogant answer to his question.
The great brute’s expression changed by the second, not quite knowing what to think of this female, he had never met her before, and based upon her comment, she seemed to be quite in-touch with her sense of lady-like grace, for what he could see. The sun pounded down on their backs, he could feel the snow surrounding his paws was beginning to melt, the water soaking through his dense un-pigmented fur. Her voice sounded in his head as he thought of his introduction ‘There is no need for an apology sir. Formality is always acceptable. I am Tectonic. Who may you be?’
Adiemus was almost shocked with the tone in which she worded her sentences, short, yet full of graceful diction. It was rare that he would find another wolf that spoke so fluently, he was impressed by this crimson female already. My name is Adiemus Ero. Pleasure to make your acquaintance Tectonic.” He nodded his ivory crown to her, lightening his facial expression slightly. His sky blue eyes glistened in the unexpected sunlight, not ten minutes ago, the sky was dreary and grey, almost like this fae brought sunlight wherever her paws touched the earth.
Mentally, he shook the metaphor from his mind, thinking of such childish things would not be good for his mental state, possibly cause him to go mad. He shifted his paws in discomfort, the water from melted snow had now chilled his legs to the point at which they burned slightly, but he did not take his eyes from Tectonic, awaiting, or thinking of something to say, silence was thick in the early morning air. The small cloud from his breath distracted the brute slightly, appearing and disappearing in front of his nose, it was an interesting thing, but he had to think of something, and yet his mind failed to think of what he should say to this fae, he just remained in the same spot, his crown lifted high, his eyes locked on the deep crimson colored female. Waiting, watching, and pointlessly thinking of something to say next without sounding like a blubbering idiot.

Tectonic
A Pleasure Tectonic remained quiet after she spoke, letting her words sink in and perhaps allow the white knight some time to think. Her turquoise eyes flickered across their surroundings, surveying the area for several moments. Despite the fact that she appeared to be very calm and relaxed, the truth was that she was ever vigilent; always watching out for any kind of irregularity that would signal an oncoming attack.
Refocusing her attention upon the ivory brute, she noticed how his sky-blue eyes remained trained on her, as if he were watching her warily. Why did he look at her in such a way? A quick look-over was given to her posture. She was in no way threatning him or even hinting that she felt threatened by his presence. What could cause him to...Then it her. Of the glimpses of the other Cerrac wolves she had gotten, no other females possesed a dark obsidian coat like the one that she and Bella shared. Was this shared trait perhaps the reason that the male watched her with hesitation? Did he think that she was similar in character to the dark queen?
But then, once her words had fully reached his ears, his whole expression changed in a split second. Perhaps her smooth tone had convinced him that she indeed was not like their dark-coated leader. The silence between the two lupine grew and grew and Tonic settled into it quite comfortably. Silence was nothing new to the fatal. If he needed time to gather his thoughts that was completely fine; she had no problem with waiting.
It wasn't long after his change of expression that his voice broke the long silence. My name is Adiemus Ero. Pleasure to make your acquaintance Tectonic. He nodded his crown in her direction, his expression lightening as the golden sun reflected brilliantly in his crystalline gems. A small smile of acceptance graced her lips as she bowed her crown in return to him. The pleasure is mine Adiemus. Her answer was simple, not leaving much room for conversation since she wasn't exactly sure how to continue. Her years of solitude had kind of worn away her social skills, only leaving the bare minimum.
Once again, she let her voice float out into the atmosphere towards Adiemus in response. Her attention flitted for a moment as she surveyed her surroundings once more, a habit that hadn't worn away yet before returning her turquoise gaze to Adiemus. As she watched him, she noticed how he shifted his paws, as if in discomfort. The snow around the two wolven had begun to melt, causing chilly water to run into the soil. Apparently, this moisture had reached the white knight's pads and had soaked through, bringing a chill through his legs. A solution easily came into her mind and she acted upon it without so much as thought. Approaching Adiemus, she lowered her head, breathing gently onto his paws, letting her fire-breath(minus the actual fire of course)warm up his pads and legs. Tonic went around and did this to each paw until she felt satisfied that she had chased away the chill. After this, she moved away from the male to face the snow. Using her talons, she dug kind of a small trench about two inches deep which allowed the water to flow into it instead of towards herself and Adiemus.
When she finished, the two wolven were surrounded in a good-sized clearing of sorts, with the two inch trench keeping the melted water at bay. Satisfied with her work, Tonic took her position in front of the knight, letting her haunches settle onto the now snow-free dirt as she watched him, waiting.
