A dark colored wolf, looked up at the looming flat rock before him. It was precariously poised on top of another rock. The wolf stuck his fore-paws out in the air above him bent at the knees as he curiously looked at the rock. Looking for a way up, he leaned back hunching up the muscles in his hind leg. Finally, deciding on just trying his luck with a jump. He let his legs take off. His hind muscles uncoiled like a spring and he flung himself into the air. He righted himself in mid-air letting his front paws lead. His paws felt the dull impact of stone as he managed the jump of almost four feet and came to a stop.
Successful in his endeavor the wolf made an easy leap over a small crevice onto what seamed like a weaving path against the mountain side.
The dark colored wolf with the intense green eyes followed the path, glancing up a caves he could see like pockmarked dots higher up the mountain side. The enticing smell of water came to his snout. He padded around a corner and nearly trampled into a small pool of water, by the entrance of a cave. There was a shallow dip in the ground, in front of the cave's entrance. Water seemed to gather in it, forming a small pool. On top of the cave there was an over hanging of stone, as he watched a droplet of water slipped off it, and into the pool, causing ripples on it's surface.
The wolf padded up to the pool of water and leaned down, thirstily to drink from it. His mouth opened and his tongue fell out, lapping up the water. As he drank he felt a drop of cold, icy water fall onto the back of his neck. He turned his gray-blue head to look up at the dripping stone. A drop of water fell and hit the tip of his nose. He blinked, wincing in surprise. Feeling stupid, the wolf turned his head back to the water and let the drops fall on his neck as he drunk. But soon, the amount of drops increased until it was falling in a steady pattern. Looking up again, the wolf found dark gray storm clouds covering he sky. He felt suddenly grateful for his luck as he slipped into the nearby cave.
The wolf padded to the back of the cave. He lay down against the wall, as the rain outside sped up to a steady constant rhythm. Although it was raining, the sun was shining, and the wolf watched a Mikoe took flight, to find it's own shelter from the downpour. A scarred eye glared at it intensely. The stupid prey, mocking him. He wasn't sure why, but catching prey, any sort of prey, seemed to elude him. He had managed to survive off other resources so far, however.
The wolf let it's gaze shift from the Mikoe as it flew out of range of his vision. The diagonal scar by his eye throbbed and he abruptly closed the eye on instinct keeping the other one open. The scar was a diagonal cut over his left eye, separating his blue grey fur.
The wolf's pelt is at first glance bluish-gray. However the longer you stare at it, the more it reveals itself to be primarily blue. It's a dark blue color, midnight blue. However that's not all there is to it. His pelt is oddly marked. Starting from the back of his ears, two dark blue, almost black, stripes connect and come to a point on his forehead, in between his eyes, mimicking a blade. On his neck and chest his fur is slightly fluffier and lighter colored giving the appearance of a mane. On three of his legs, his right fore paw and both of his hind legs, right around his ankle there are bands of dark blue, circling his leg. On the other leg, there is a criss-cross of lighter blue-gray slowly rising X's that eventually end in a circle at his shoulder. His tails are both dark blue, with a light blue tip.
The final and strangest marking is his underbelly. It's a mix of a dark red and orange, getting lighter towards the center. Although sharply contrasting with the rest of his body, the edges of his fur between the blue and red transitions smoothly, making it appear more natural.
The wolf wasn't the smallest wolf either, no quite the opposite. The wolf was a large, muscular wolf. Although not large, in the bulky sort of way. No his muscles aren't built one on top of each other. They're built next to each other, slightly overlapping each other. His muscles are like allies, comrades. They work together to make his body an efficient machine. While the wolf was not the most muscular wolf, he did posses a fair amount of muscle tone. His body and muscles are lithe, made for quick, strong strikes.
Although he isn't built with a heaving amount of muscles, his size more then makes up for it. He is a massive wolf. It was obvious he's used to towering above others.
The wolf curled his large body up in the back of the cave. He rested his head on his fore-paws, and closed his other eye as well. Letting, just how tired he was fall over him, the wolf drifted off into a gentle slumber.
