Long, black muzzle pressed into the sullen earth, the dry cracks of the ground and dirt sifting with every deep breath. Warm blood was pumping through the large veins, nothing obstructing their very common and often traveled roads. The scents from the floor wafted up and in, filling the sensors with everything the land had to tell. Not much was new from when he had first set up in the land, save from the two members whom had come to him looking for housing. Both were granted as the Makya; so far there were no complaints on the choice. However, with the pack that was still so close and unknown to the brute, there was a grand desire to gain more. More members, more security, the easier everyone rested. Not that Rota rested much. His mind was much too busy for such luxuries.
Large head lifted then, peering forward into the vast and empty desert. The moon was shining over head, causing an eery blue-grey glow on the red-brown scenery. He stared, though only for a few moments, in the direction of the land entrance; intent on seeing some sort of wolf walking to him. The focus broken when he now moved his icy blues in the way of the camp. A flow of thoughts ran in and out, a massive amount that if someone could get within his head, it would be too overwhelming. But for him? Ha. It went over and around his brain so consistently that it had not been difficult for him by now to know what was going on.
Just then, a noise caught his attention and forced his head to flip to the direction. A skittering, a scampering; it had been nothing more than a little erican trying to run to it’s cave. Almost menacing, a smirk glided up the mouth of the large wolf. With one quick and short jump, the large body fell onto the little and helpless creature. It squealed, although the yell was also short-lived; coming quickly to an end. Had he even been hungry? It was a little hard to tell, although he supposed he could eat. After all, this was one very minuscule piece of meat. Not like it would fill him entirely to the brim. Giving it no further thought, his neck muscles dropped his head so he could chow on his prey.
It was gone in seconds. Barely chewed, the animal slid down his throat practically whole. There was no choking, nor any trouble as it slid. A malicious grin found it’s way creeping over his black lips, and then at the very tips a tooth poked it’s way out. Oh, how marvelous it had been to have found this place here. So neglected by many, but such a perfect home for all. Homage here would be long-lived, and his pack would grow. Yes, they would have everything they ever needed here in this secluded desert.

He paced, and continued pacing. there was enough prey for the pack to last them several weeks- less wolves meant less food needed- and so his job was done. It had been done for days. And purposeless, he felt he could not function. A half growl caught in his throat- one mixed of irritation, boredom, and purposelessness.
How long had it been since the Makya had joined this new pack? Shortly after his last one disbanded, he felt like he lost track of time. It could have been weeks since he joined the pack, or it could have been days. He wasn't even sure anymore. Along with the change that made him lose track of the time, he was now more quiet, more irritable. His normally present grin was long gone, replaced by a solemn, almost emotionless look. The friendly happy-go-lucky wolf had become completely passive since his time with Nootau
That's not to say he hadn't been useful. Capricorn had been hunting for the pack, patrolling in his spare time (hah! He had nothing -but- spare time nowadays). Not that there was much of a pack. Three males, not a single breeding pair. It was smile, and liable to die out once the three males got old. But hopefully that would change with the turning of the season. By the beginning of summer, adolescent wolves would be out searching for new packs. And Capricorn was more than ready for that
He let his gaze drift across the pack territory- a wide expanse of empty desserts. Despite his aquatic looks, Capricorn found himself comfortable in the desert, happy even. Well, as close to happy as he had been in the past few months. Either way, Capricorn like the desert. The view of the pack territory pleased him.
A movement caught his eye and he noticed the alpha standing nearby, erican in jaws. Capricorn changed the course of his pacing until he was approaching the other wolf. Bowing his head in respect, flicking his long aquatic tail in greeting

The masculine wolf now allowed for his mind to wander. It traveled over the possibility of new members, and also the idea that it could always be just these three. Although it was pleasant having company from time to time, there were specific needs that neither of these brutes would fulfill. It hadn’t been bothering him too much, although it certainly was the season to. Perhaps there was a burning desire to mate, and he was just ignoring it for look sake. Maybe it was the absence of the females that forced him to entirely ignore the most natural of all things. Well, first thing was first, he needed to recruit more before he thought of having whelps. The pack didn’t even have any females to watch after the hypothetical pups; that was certainly a problem.
A noise made an interruption within the brain, causing a sort of skip of memory as the wolf turned to see what had been moving his way. As if it had been fate, one of the members that did occupy the pack was now marching in his direction. A delightful, but very tiny smirk slid over one portion of the mouth. Body rotated fully so that he could peer at the lower wolf. His crown was already placed proudly into the air, the rest of his body set out accordingly. With a mighty step, he closed the gap between the brutes. Licking his chops, he removed the remaining blood from the just killed erican.
“How goes it, Makya?”
OOC: I'm sorry, my sicky butt is making this hard.

(It's fine ) Though normally a dominant wolf, Capricorn knew his place in the pack was far lower than that of an alpha. He responded accordingly, tail lowering, ears flicking forward and down, eyes narrowed (Which is actually a submissive sign- wolves widen their eyes to challenge eachother and narrow them to signal that they're not a threat :3) and head lowered. He woofed once in greeting before speaking. "Well, though I wonder, Alpha." He hesitated, unsure of how to bring up the topic that he had been considering for days. "With three wolves, and all males, at that, how will we survive the coming seasons? No wolf is young forever, and I fear we will grow old before our times with no pups in the pack. the pack could die out, to be frank." He kept his head lowered as her spoke, only looking up now to meet the alpha's gaze. He knew the other would know it wasn't a challenge, so he wasn't worried about the meeting of stares. What worried him was the alpha's potential response.Capricorn knew that all three of the Nootau wolves had been wondering this for a time, but the question still hadn't been discussed. What would happen to the pack?

What to do? It was a fair question to be asking at the moment. With such a small pack to be taking care of, and two of the current three being hunters, there wasn't a whole lot of work needing to be done. No, right now it was a question of how to make themselves useful. But that, was a very hard word to keep to one definition.
Ash grey wings held him aloft, flying high above the pack-lands and gazing down with a curious expression. He was a thinker by nature after all. His serpent-like eyes shone amber as the light hit them. Even in the night there was enough light to see by. Winter had since passed, and the coming of spring meant the lengthening of days. All the better to hunt by. Well, once he was needed more for such things.
Kione flicked his lengthy tail, using it like a rudder to correct himself. Maybe later he would try to perfect a few maneuvers. He had some time on his paws. But now was not the time. The wolf quickly changed course, soaring over the barren landscape towards his new destination. It wasn't often that he found himself going anywhere with a particular purpose, but now he did. A welcome change.
Only a few flaps of his large wings was needed to pick up speed, at the same time sending him higher in the air. It was most likely luck that he caught sight of the two fellow members of the pack, who seemed to be conversing bellow. Well, why not join them? He knew he had definitely met the quota of prey he would need to catch for a while yet. So a little talk with the others here might be interesting.
He took up a steep dive, wings tucked in at his sides, tail out straight, moving ever so slightly when he needed to correct course. A dozen yards or so from the land bellow he snapped open his wings, flapping once to slow his decent before landing lightly on the ground not too far from the others. Not a bad landing at all. Kione took a small sense of pride in such things, even if it wasn't all that important.
They had only just begun their conversation, it seemed, and he figured he could fill in the blanks. "-ill grow old before our times with no pups in the pack. the pack could die out, to be frank." Was the best snippet of words he managed to catch. So, something about the lack of members? Hmm... Kione had admittedly been thinking about that, and yet not fretting. This pack wasn't exactly the oldest around. It still had plenty to offer, and time to gain members. Besides, if this other Makya - what was his name? Ah, Capricorn! If Capricorn was so worried, why not go out and do something, then? It made more sense than sitting around. Heck, Kione would join him in the search for members if need be.
The male walked slowly over to the other two, head moving to a lower position, tail lowering as well, and over all adopting a more... respectful air towards the alpha who stood before him. Kione was only a hunter, so he would act accordingly. He sat down, glancing at the two who had been talking before speaking up, "Well, if your concerned for the pack, why don't you see about doing something about it? I don't want you to mistake my tone for a rude one, but why not get to looking for potential members, if none have come just yet? Though, there is surely time to get said done. It would be wise to get ahead when we have the chance." He said, words spoken thoughtfully, and without any ridicule. He didn't want to have Capricorn dislike him, but at the same time he would speak his mind regardless.
(I sort of hate this post... Oh well .-.)
