Brittle in her bones, nearly breaking with every single step; the meat that once covered over her fragile frame was now missing as it appeared almost entirely overcome with skeleton and flesh. A sharp, cool breeze blew around the abstract pelt; chilling, cooling, and almost freezing the core. Liable to shatter, the frigid frame softly dropped to the ground. Content with just laying there, she made no motion nor noise and just tried to take in the scene about her. The place that had once been called home, was no longer livable and was instead turned to nothing but another wasteland. Bret had disappeared, the rest of the lads and lasses following all too quickly. Only one was left; the darling Brav.
Now that there had been no motion, the pain from starvation was minimal. Though far from death, having such a low amount of body fat to begin with was trouble. Hunting was only difficult due to the awkward shape of her lerpy legs; although once very graceful and majestic. With hope, her friend would not be too far off and he would be carrying some sort of nourishment. They needed to make some sort of plan together, as survival out here was most definitely not going to go over well. Without a pack, the two would parish, and then soon be forgotten as their bodies waste away; the land reclaiming them as it’s primal source of food. With luck, it would not come to that, and the two could survive and live healthily for a few more years.
That is, if they had found some place to live.
Without a home, it felt as if the planet was beginning to toy with Tranthia; take away her memories and strength just to see how far the wolf could go. Once so very connected to home, suddenly began to fade and turn into something that even she could not recognize. Most of her thoughts were focused on the one friend she had in this world, but even then, how reliable was he? Never a sore thought, never anything angry or pessimistic about Haibi would come to mind; just fear that she had begun to let herself go when they had met. Still, if it had not been for him, where would she be now? Already dead, passed on from the fear of talking to a pack leader herself. So, in many ways, there was a lot that she could never have accomplished if it were not for the tri-colored brute. With a heavy sigh, she smiled, lightly placing her heavy head onto the long legs. The sky above was dark, tinted blue with night. Maybe it was time to get some sleep. [/blockquote] OOC: it's so very.. very.. very short. Sorry. I'm just trying to get back into the site again.

Average body was held low to the ground as Haibi crouched behind a bush. It left only a very minuscule line of sight to the orrin, but it was just enough. He could have been a hunter if it were not for his thoughts - even now he seemed so focused on killing his prey that his mind was racing. It was how his friend and himself had to survive now, him being the primary hunter for food. That’s how they were living.
His pack had fallen when it had seemed so steady. Bret supposedly killed, and the rest of the wolves didn’t stick around long enough to ever find out why. Just as the others had done, him and the female would who he had cared most about in the world, they got up and left. Whether it was the best of ideas or not, they had done it, and apparently were going to stick through it. They had made it through the toughest of seasons, winter, but that did not mean they were out of the waters just yet.
The fea that had stayed alongside was much weaker than Brav had been. He hunted, taking as little as possible, just so he could care for her more. She needed the nutrition much worse than he did. He could live without it, but for her he was unsure. How he trusted her so easily, he never really understood, but at the moment she would be the one who he would protect with his life; if only for her friendship. It never made sense to him, but yet again nothing much ever really did.
With quick motion, he leapt from the brush and picked up the kill quickly. Turning, he went back to where his friend was camped, orrin in hand. He stopped when his brown eyes beheld the collapsed wolf. Stepping forward, he dropping the carcass right next to her paws. ‘You alright?’ His thoughts ran smoother and relaxing so as not to startle her. Lowering his head, he looked into the face of his companion, waiting for an answer. *occ I'm kinda out of practice as well.

They twinkled and gleamed, attention capturing with such outright beauty. That cold breeze kept at the fur, tugging the strands as it ran by. Though it was rather chilly, it somehow made the ambiance that much better. Sea foam green pools watched the sky, the aforementioned stars glistening brightly. Only two of the moons were visible from where the ghostly female laid, one of the big and one of the small, but it was still so awe and inspiring that, even with the pain that hunger brought forth, she still kept happy. Something about the beauty of the planet and the awe striking settings; somehow it was made clear in her head that death was not bothersome, not if it meant feeding this lovely place that they lived.
Lost in all thought, slowly eye lids began to drop. They closed once, but were yanked wide open to continue looking at the beauty of the scene. Though, despite all of the fighting that was going on within, slowly the wof in her prime began to slip and slide into the translucent dream state. Practically dropping all defenses, Tranthia faded out of the real world and slipped right into the one created within her mind. It was nothing but cloudy colors today, But... it had seemed... that somewhere in the distance, the smell and voice of her truest friend, Haibi, was recognized. Even when asleep, the muscles controlling the mouth forced a very content smile. She loved him in such a friendly way.
Though, when the scent of a fresh meal directly in front of her nostrils reached her sensors, the green eyes jerked open. His words invaded her mind before the wolf had hardly any time to react, and without much hesitation, a thumping rhythm sounded, beginning at the base of the tail. Bringing her head up, the long striped tongue made it’s way out and to his face; licking kindly. “I’m fine... thank you, my friend.” Her words were not spoken, but instead transferred to his mind selectively. This was how the two normally communicated, although it wasn’t strange for them to use their voices, as well. Being that they still were hardly used, sometimes the tone came out much more raspy and scratched; though it lost that quality quickly.
Looking down to the meal between her front feet, she gave an open mouth smile. “Is this for us?” [/blockquote]

When the fea’s head jolted up and her emerald greeneyes were visible, the natural colored wolf lifted his head so it no longer had a strained feeling in it. He bent it one way, and then the other, just to release some more tendons. It popped on one side, although the other did not do the same. Sighing, his body relaxed some. It was good to know that his friend had not let harm come over her.
A small grin presented itself where the tall fea had licked him, her voice running into his head. Looking down, he watched and listened to her speak. How lucky he was to know such a kind soul. She answered his question calmly, and he did the same. A warm smile still holding up on one side of his mouth, he replied calmly and friendly. ‘For you. I’m not hungry, even in the slightest.’ That, although he would never admit to it, had been a very bad lie.
Haibi did not lie often, but when he did it was at his own expense. He did this for the safety of Tranthia, not wanting her to go hungry and wither away. He was hungry, although he would rather wait until she was done and asleep before he would eat the scraps, or even find something else for himself. He knew she was much weaker than he had been, and this was a lot more worrisome than even his own health. They held a very odd relationship with one another, but it was the best that he had ever had.
Slowly, he walked over to the other side of Tranthia, his body lowering into the soft grass. He laid his head on his paws, as if he were about to go to sleep, but his eyes lay wide open. He ignored the growling in his stomach, only hoping that it would not make a sound and give away his secret. He could wait just a bit longer before he had to eat. [/blockquote]

A little insect found it’s way to the two different wolves. A small lightning bug, floating and drifting right on up to them. It danced for a few moments around her face, floating in front and glowing it’s odd yellow-green light. Green eyes watched it, enjoying it’s company for the few moments that it decided to hang around. It took one more lap around her face, then moved it’s way to her back. Turning her head awkwardly so that she could watch it. With a bit more seconds of dancing in the air, it decided to finally turn tail and fly away. Probably out to it’s other friends. Why it had traveled so far away from them in the first place was a mystery, though the little creatures company was pleasurable. Smiling, she only watched it flit away from the two.
Distractions were easily broken now, as her friend spoke to her of the meal. Saliva began to well up in the corners of her lips, excited to break into the fresh flesh that she had been brought. However, knowing that he had been lying and he, too, wanted some of the meal made her hesitate. She had noticed the sacrifice that he consistently did, knowing that everything he found was given practically straight to her. Eventually it would be the end of him, and though she was grateful to get a whole meal to herself, there was no way she would take it. He needed some sort of nutrition, as they both needed to survive out here. Knowing that he really was hungry, she grinned.
He had moved to the other side of her by now, and without hesitating, she bent down and tore out a very sizable chunk of the carcass, dropping it right in front of his nose. Then, she turned and took her own bite, grinning as the warmth of the meat hit her stomach. Blood rushed into her mouth, and the savory flavor made her almost howl with excitement. Gleefully, she blessed her planet, and thanked her for the meal; of course she did this all within her head. Now, at least, they could survive another night, but they were not all out of the woods just yet.
‘We need a pack, Haibi.’ She spoke to him in silence, going to his mind instead of to his ears. Her chewing did not stop, either, as the words found their way over to his head. [/blockquote]
